How AI is used

Wamd uses automated systems and artificial intelligence to assist with functions such as discovering and classifying news, extracting factual information, identifying duplicate or related coverage, grouping stories, creating independent Wamd briefs, translating Wamd-generated briefs, ranking and organizing stories, checking factual coverage, checking textual similarity, and identifying source and copyright restrictions.

These systems may make mistakes. AI-generated or AI-assisted material may contain errors, omissions, mistranslations, or incorrect classifications. Some content may receive human review, but not every Wamd story is manually reviewed before publication.

Wamd does not use this automated processing to make decisions about readers that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Briefs and translation

Where Wamd creates an independent brief, the preferred workflow is to translate the Wamd brief rather than republish a translation of the publisher's complete article unless Wamd has authorization permitting such translation. Machine-generated translations may contain errors or lose nuance. The original source remains the authoritative version of the publisher's reporting.

Do not rely on a Wamd brief where the original publisher or an authoritative primary source is required. Full policy: Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
