Terms of Use

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of wamdnews.com and related Wamd News services ("Wamd" or the "Service").

By accessing or using Wamd, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What Wamd Is

Wamd News is a multilingual, multi-country news discovery and briefing service.

Wamd helps readers discover reporting published by third-party news organizations and other information sources.

Depending on the source, available rights, and technical configuration, Wamd may:

Wamd is generally not the original reporting organization for stories discovered from third-party publishers.

Original Publishers and Sources

The original reporting remains with the publisher or other source identified by Wamd.

Wamd seeks to identify the source clearly and provide a link to the original publication where available.

A Wamd brief is not intended to imply that Wamd conducted the original reporting.

Readers who need the full report, complete context, original quotations, methodology, or updates should consult the original publisher.

Wamd Briefs

Where permitted, Wamd may create independent factual news briefs based on factual information obtained from news sources.

Wamd's system is designed to distinguish underlying facts from a publisher's original expression and to avoid reproducing substantial source text where Wamd does not have permission to do so.

Wamd briefs may:

Wamd does not guarantee that every relevant fact from an original article will appear in a Wamd brief.

Source Rights and Publisher Restrictions

Wamd recognizes that publishers may impose different conditions on accessing, storing, reproducing, summarizing, translating, or otherwise using their material.

Wamd may use different processing rules depending on publisher, source, feed, API, license, website terms, syndication rights, applicable law, and ingestion method.

Sources may be treated as licensed, openly licensed, permitted RSS/feed use, limited attributed reuse, discovery only, restricted, or not yet reviewed.

Where a source restricts article-body processing or reuse, Wamd may limit its use to discovery metadata such as the headline, publisher, URL, and publication information and seek factual confirmation from other permissible sources.

Wamd's linking to a publisher does not imply that the publisher sponsors, endorses, or has a commercial relationship with Wamd.

Publisher Content and Intellectual Property

Third-party publishers retain their respective rights in their articles, photographs, video, graphics, trademarks, and other protected material.

Wamd does not claim ownership of third-party publisher content merely because that content is referenced, linked, summarized, classified, or displayed in connection with Wamd.

Wamd's own software, branding, interface, original text, original briefs, database organization, selection, arrangement, and other independently created material may be protected by intellectual-property law.

Nothing in these Terms transfers intellectual-property rights belonging to Wamd or a third party.

Artificial Intelligence

Wamd uses artificial intelligence and automated systems.

AI may assist with source classification, factual extraction, story clustering, duplicate detection, headline processing, news brief generation, translation, topic and country classification, ranking, factual coverage checks, and textual similarity checks.

AI-generated or AI-assisted material may contain errors, omissions, mistranslations, or incorrect classifications.

Some content may receive human review, but not every Wamd story is manually reviewed before publication.

Do not rely on a Wamd brief where the original publisher or an authoritative primary source is required.

Translation

Wamd may provide stories in languages different from the language of the source.

Where Wamd creates an independent brief, the preferred workflow is to translate the Wamd brief rather than republish a translation of the publisher's complete article unless Wamd has authorization permitting such translation.

Machine-generated translations may contain errors or lose nuance.

The original source remains the authoritative version of the publisher's reporting.

Opinions, Editorials, Commentary, and Analysis

Wamd distinguishes opinion content from straight news where reasonably identifiable.

When a source classifies material as an opinion, editorial, commentary, column, or analysis, Wamd should preserve that classification.

A Wamd description of opinion content may summarize the author's principal position, but the opinion remains that of the original author or publisher.

Statements such as "the author argues", "the columnist contends", and "the publication's editorial states" are intended to preserve attribution.

Wamd does not adopt an author's opinion merely by including or summarizing it.

Accuracy and Corrections

Wamd seeks to provide accurate and useful news briefs, but errors can occur, including incorrect source metadata, incomplete factual extraction, mistranslation, AI hallucination, duplicate classification, outdated information, incorrect attribution, and missing context.

News events also change rapidly.

Wamd may correct a brief when a fact is wrong. Material corrections are labeled on the story and recorded on the public Corrections page. Wamd does not silently replace or remove a published fact to hide an error. Routine updates that do not change the reported facts, such as adding later context, may proceed without a correction notice.

Readers and publishers may report errors to info@wamdnews.com.

Copyright and Publisher Requests

Wamd respects intellectual-property rights.

A publisher, copyright owner, authorized representative, or other rights holder may contact Wamd regarding copyright concerns, attribution, source identification, removal requests, correction requests, syndication questions, licensing, permitted use, and publisher partnerships.

Contact: info@wamdnews.com

A request should preferably identify the requester, the protected work or publication, the Wamd URL involved, the original source URL, the nature of the concern, and contact information.

Wamd may investigate and may remove, restrict, modify, or correct material while reviewing a request.

Images and Multimedia

Rights in photographs, video, audio, illustrations, logos, graphics, and other media may be different from rights concerning article text.

Wamd does not assume that permission to reference or summarize an article also grants permission to reuse the publisher's photographs or multimedia.

Media displayed by Wamd may come from licensed sources, openly licensed material, public-domain material, authorized APIs or feeds, Wamd-created material, or other uses permitted by applicable law.

Third-party rights remain with their respective owners.

Third-Party Links

Wamd contains links to third-party publishers and other websites. Those sites are controlled by their respective operators. Wamd is not responsible for third-party availability, accuracy, security, privacy practices, advertisements, terms, or later changes to third-party content. A link does not imply endorsement unless explicitly stated.

Permitted Use of Wamd

You may use Wamd for lawful personal and informational purposes. You may read Wamd briefs, follow links to publishers, share Wamd URLs, and quote limited portions of Wamd's original material where legally permitted and appropriately attributed.

Prohibited Use

You may not interfere with or disrupt Wamd; bypass security measures or technical restrictions; use Wamd for unlawful purposes; impersonate Wamd or another person; falsely suggest an affiliation with Wamd; systematically copy or republish Wamd's original briefs without permission or another lawful basis; operate automated systems in a manner that materially harms Wamd's infrastructure; remove copyright, attribution, or source notices; or use Wamd content to mislead readers about the original publisher or author.

Nothing in this section excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wamd and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use or inability to use Wamd, reliance on a news brief, inaccurate or incomplete information, AI-generated errors, translation errors, third-party content, third-party websites, or interruption or loss of service. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Governing Law

Governing law and forum will be specified when a legal entity operating Wamd is designated. Mandatory consumer rights available under the law where a user resides are not excluded by these Terms.

Language

Wamd may provide these Terms in multiple languages. Translations are intended to make the Terms easier to understand. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, the English version is the controlling version if translations differ.
