Desk follows and growth measurement

Following a desk saves a preference on this device; it does not subscribe you to notifications. You can unfollow it or clear browser storage. Wamd measures story opens, 20 seconds of visible reading time, return visits, desk-follow actions and clicks on channel links. The separate growth report stores hashed browser and session identifiers with event, desk and prepared-link references for up to 30 days, bounded to 50,000 events. Channel-link clicks do not confirm a subscription. External channels have their own privacy policies.

Readership measurement on Wamd

Wamd has its own readership analytics, separate from Google Analytics. It records information such as pages and stories viewed, searches, referring sites, approximate location, device details, and a visitor identifier. This identifier may come from browser storage or be derived from request information. Rejecting Google Analytics cookies does not turn off this separate measurement.
