How Wamd Works

From sources to your news desk

Wamd discovers stories, groups related coverage, and organizes news by country and topic. Freshness, followed publishers, and source diversity help shape your desk. Explore Sources and learn how we use AI for briefs and translations in AI Policy.

Wamd is generally not the original reporting organization for stories discovered from third-party publishers. The original reporting remains with the publisher or other source identified by Wamd. A Wamd brief is not intended to imply that Wamd conducted the original reporting.

Readers who need the full report, complete context, original quotations, methodology, or updates should consult the original publisher.

Opinion and analysis

Wamd distinguishes opinion content from straight news where reasonably identifiable. When a source classifies material as an opinion, editorial, commentary, column, or analysis, Wamd should preserve that classification.

A Wamd description of opinion content may summarize the author's principal position, but the opinion remains that of the original author or publisher. Wamd does not adopt an author's opinion merely by including or summarizing it.
